Sero-Tet 250 IU, produced by Green Cross in South Korea, is an injectable preparation containing tetanus-specific immunoglobulin. It belongs to the group of immunoglobulins and blood-derived products. This medication provides immediate passive immunity against the toxin produced by Clostridium tetani and plays a vital role in preventing tetanus.

Indications: Sero-Tet is particularly indicated for individuals with contaminated or deep wounds at risk of tetanus infection, or for those with uncertain vaccination history or whose last tetanus vaccination was more than 10 years ago.

Administration: The drug is administered via intramuscular injection (IM), typically in the deltoid or thigh muscle, and should not be given intravenously. Concurrent use with a tetanus vaccine is permitted and even recommended to establish active and long-lasting immunity. However, tetanus immunoglobulin may interfere with the efficacy of live viral vaccines, so administration of such vaccines should be delayed for at least three months after receiving Sero-Tet.

Side Effects: Potential adverse reactions include pain or inflammation at the injection site, mild fever, and rare allergic reactions.

Dosage Form: Sero-Tet is supplied as a 1 mL injectable containing 250 International Units (IU) and is used as part of immediate post-exposure care in medical settings to prevent tetanus in injured patients.
