Flaviran 100 mg Tablets are a pharmaceutical preparation containing Riboflavin (Vitamin B₂), an essential nutrient that plays a vital role in energy metabolism and the normal functioning of nerve cells. By enhancing mitochondrial metabolism in neurons, this medication has been shown to be effective in preventing migraines and reducing the frequency and severity of migraine attacks.

Flaviran belongs to the therapeutic class of vitamins and mitochondrial-based antimigraine agents. Riboflavin, after being converted to its active forms (FMN and FAD), participates in oxidation–reduction reactions, improving mitochondrial performance and reducing oxidative stress in neural cells. This mechanism decreases neuronal excitability, thereby helping to prevent migraine attacks.

Flaviran is mainly prescribed for the prevention of chronic and episodic migraine headaches. Additionally, it is used in the treatment of Vitamin B₂ deficiency and to support the general function of the nervous system.

The medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to riboflavin or any of the product’s components. Use during pregnancy and lactation should be under medical supervision.

Flaviran is considered a safe medication, and even at therapeutic high doses, it rarely causes adverse effects. A yellow discoloration of urine after use is normal and harmless. In rare cases, mild gastrointestinal disturbances or skin hypersensitivity reactions may occur. Concomitant use with certain drugs such as chloramphenicol may reduce the absorption or efficacy of riboflavin; therefore, it is important to inform the physician about all medications being taken concurrently.
