Alkikema, the generic name for Melphalan, is a product of Adit Lifesciences, India, and is known as one of the most effective chemotherapy drugs. This drug belongs to the group of “alkylants” and prevents the growth and division of cancer cells by damaging their DNA.

Melphalan is used in the treatment of diseases such as multiple myeloma, ovarian cancer, and some cases of breast cancer and lymphoma, and is also prescribed to prepare patients before bone marrow transplantation. This drug is available in two forms: intravenous or oral injection and is usually given to the patient in a controlled manner.

Its possible side effects include decreased blood cells, nausea, fatigue, and mouth ulcers, which is why it is necessary to follow up the patient’s condition with a doctor. Melphalan is contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
